Fans ecstatic as Chelsea beat Man City to advance to FA Cup finals

In what is a huge result, Chelsea defeated Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City 1-0 at Wembley to make it through to the finals of the 2020/21 FA Cup.

Coming into the game on the back of a 1-0 defeat to FC Porto, it was Chelsea who made the brighter start to the game and had better chances in the first-half. In fact, Hakim Ziyech seemed to have put Chelsea ahead but the goal was disallowed as Timo Werner was offside during buildup.

Nevertheless, the pair combined again ten minutes after the break as Werner cut back for Ziyech to fire the ball into an empty net to make it 1-0. Manchester City never really forced Kepa Arrizabalaga into any big save, although the Spaniard did have to make a couple of regulation stops in the latter stages.

Christian Pulisic, who had come on as a second-half substitute put the ball into the back of the net in stoppage time but had to be pulled back for offside. That didn’t matter in the end, though, as Ziyech’s strike was enough for Chelsea to beat Manchester City and book a place in the FA Cup finals.

The Blues will take on the winner of Leicester vs Southampton that takes place on Sunday night at Wembley.
