Kanu is asking the Federal High Court in Abuja to issue an order compelling the DSS to provide him with food, medical care, and clothing of his choice.

The detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has accused the DSS of grossly violating his basic human rights.

Kanu claimed in the FHC/ABJ/CS1585/2021 suit, filed through one of his lawyers, Mr. Maxwell Chibuike Okpara, that a doctor hired by the security agency extracted his blood 21 times.

The IPOB leader lamented that, despite a court order, he has not been allowed to change his clothes or practice his religion while in detention.
