“In fact, the entire Paiko community was terrified because of the sound of gunshots of the bandits. It was as a result of the sporadic shooting that a 7-year-old boy was killed,” he said.

He claimed the bandits kidnapped four residents and raided several stores, stealing food.

According to Abubakar Sadauna, the district head of Gulida, who confirmed the incident to Daily Trust, the couple who were shot were taken to a private hospital in Gwagwalada for treatment.

“I later learned over the weekend that two of the four kidnapped victims escaped from the abductors’ den,” he said.

He stated that the Yaba police division headquarters had been informed of the attack, and that officers went to the scene and saw the 7-year-old boy’s corpse before it was buried.

The bandits then proceeded to neighboring Mawogi community, two kilometers away Gasakpa, and abducted six villagers.
