Boko Haram Invades Damboa LGA, Many feared killed.
Suspected armed Boko Haram terrorists have attacked the Damboa Council headquarters in Borno state, shooting intermittently as they battled army nearby.

Damboa is about an 85-kilometer drive from Maiduguri, the state capital, and is located in the heart of the sambisa forests in the southern Borno Senatorial District.
Due to the closure of the 185-kilometer Maiduguri-Damboa-Biu route, the resilient people living in the Council area must travel more than 450 kilometers to reach Damboa and Maiduguri.
According to the Vanguard, the insurgents stormed the community around 5:30 p.m. and opened fire sporadically, forcing many residents to flee into the bushes of the sambisa forest for safety, emphasizing that many were feared dead and injured, including the terrorists, with properties set ablaze.

The District Head of Damboa, Zanna Lawan Maina, confirmed the Boko Haram invasion into Damboa, but insisted on not providing specifics because the only telecommunication service (Airtel) was not clear enough to allow connection with civilians.
“Yes some armed Boko Haram terrorists invaded Damboa this evening, I am not in the town as I am away for an official engagement.“Unfortunately, we couldn’t get access to the only existing telecommunication service provided by Airtel to ascertain the condition as of the time of the incident”.
