Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry Enugu, Nigeria, has praised the Indigenous People of Biafra for canceling Monday’s sit-at-home in the South-East, saying it was becoming a problem rather than a solution.

The priest also warned the Federal Government not to let anything happen to IPOB leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who is currently in the custody of the Department of State Services, noting that if anything bad happened to him, the country would be in even more trouble.

Kanu, he said, is fighting for the South East, not for himself.Mbaka, who issued the warning during his Sunday sermon, went on to say that Kanu should be released immediately.

He said, “The situation is better imagined should he die in custody of the Department of State Services.”Mbaka added,

“I commend IPOB for calling off its Monday sit-at-home protest because the danger of the order is becoming a problem instead of a solution.

“The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, is expressing his empathy with the people of the South-East over what they are passing through.

He will not wish that suffering to continue. Therefore, nobody should stop anybody from going to his or her business any Monday.

“All of us should keep praying for his release and work towards his freedom because if he dies inside that place, it will cause more trouble. If he comes out, he will come out as a hero.”
