Davido to Donate 251m to Orphanages, Foundations.

Davido is about to shake the social media space again after he announced that he’d be donating the sum of N251b to orphanages and foundations across Nigeria.

David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, the award-winning super star singer, announced the N251 million donation to orphanages across Nigeria on Saturday.

According to the singer, the funds came from his N100 million challenge, which netted N201 million in three days.

Davido announced on his Instagram page that he has decided to add N50 million to the donation from fans and colleagues.

Recall that on Wednesday, David had requested that his friends and fans each donate N1 million to him in honor of his birthday.

The Superstar singer said he was grateful to his friends for the show of love, especially fans who gave him what he referred to as “their last Bar”. He said some people gave N500, N1,000, N5,000 and so on. He said he believe that those people gave those amount out of love for him.

Despite the fact that he stated that the goal was to raise N100 million, the singer received over N53 million in cash transfers in less than an hour after asking colleagues for N1 million.

Davido asked other other artists and musicians across Africa to consider doing a similar challenge in their countries.
