Anambra Election; “We Didn’t call for the Cancellation of Results.” – APC.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anamabra state has denied claims that it has advocated for the cancellation of the state’s governorship election on November 6.
Chief Basil Ejidike, the party’s state chairman, made the explanation on Monday at a news conference held at the party’s state secretariat in Awka.

“I was surprised that several reports were circulated in the social media saying that APC called for cancellation of the election, that the chairman of APC fainted and also lost his polling unit.
“All the reports were fake, and at no time did I make such statement in the media,” he said.
The APC chairman emphasized that the party could not have made such a declaration while the investigation was still underway.
“There is no how we could have called for the cancellation of the results in an ongoing election.
“But all we are advising the electoral umpire at this stage is for them to right the wrong because there are a lot of flaws recorded during Saturday governorship election,” he said.

According to Ejidike, the polling units in Idemili North, Orumba North, Anambra East, Ayamelum, Anambra West, and Awka North, among others, had problems with the election. He regretted that, despite the party’s concerns, the INEC returning officer went ahead and declared the results in Orumba North Local Government Area.Ejidike stated that the party was allowing the commission to address the issue, as was done in Ihiala, where a supplementary exercise was arranged.
