Mompha discloses what EFCC told him after Hushpuppi’s arrest
Popular social media celebrity, Ismaila Mustapha, aka Mompha, has revealed that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), told him to restore his pictures on his Instagram page after his friend, Ramon Abbas AKA Hushpuppi was arrested.
Mompha who spoke in Pidgin English told Daddy Freeze during a chat on Instagram that when Hushpuppi was arrested, he received several calls that he was the cause.
He explained that he had to delete his pictures on his Instagram because he received so many bad comments.
“The day dem carry Hushpuppi, I got lots of calls, with people saying, ‘Baba, see wetin you caused; na you make dem carry this guy; na you e dey compete with.
“Na EFCC call direct me to post my pictures back because it will be as if, may be, I dey involved,” he said.
He further stated that Hushpuppi was stubborn and refused to listen, a decision that messed him.
“So in this life, if something happens to somebody, you’re supposed to think of the next step to take.
“In this life, there is something we do not understand. No matter how big you are, you must face one trial. The only prayer is that you’ll be able to overcome it. There is no trial that someone cannot face.”
Recall that Mompha is standing trail on a 22-count bordering on cyber fraud and money laundering to the tune of N33bn.
He was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in 2020 but was released on bail.
