Soludo Wins Anamabra Governorship Election

Former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, and candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Charles Chukwuma Soludo, has won the Anambra governorship election, polling a total of 112,229 votes.

APGA scored the most votes in the Ihiala supplementary election that held on Tuesday.

Remember that voting was extended to Tuesday to allow for voting in Ihiala LGA, which was the only remaining local government.
The APGA received 8,283 votes, the PDP received 2,485 votes, and the APC received 343 votes.

He won in 19 of the state’s 21 local government areas and received 25% of the vote in all of them.

Mr. Val Ozigbo of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, came in second with 53,807 votes, while the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate came in third with 43,285.

Anambra has a total of 2,466,638 registered voters, with 253,388 accredited to vote.

Soludo also won the supplementary election in Ihiala local government area on Tuesday, with 8,283 votes, while Ozigbo received 2,485 votes.Senator Andy Uba of the APC received 343 votes in the local government elections.Dr. Jarma Anagbogu of the University of Calabar, UNICAL, who announced the results from Ihiala, said there was no election in the Orsumoghu and Lilu communities due to security challenges.
