Just in: Peter Obi, has emerged the presidential candidate of the Labour Party of Nigeria for the 2023 elections.
He was elected unopposed on Monday, May 30, 2022, during the party’s National Convention, which is taking place at the Orchid Hotel in Asaba, Delta State.
Obi’s path became clear when his opponent, erudite political economist Prof. Pat Utomi, stepped down in favor of him, declaring, “Obi must be given the opportunity to govern this country.”

Obi, who resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday, announced his switch to the Labour Party on Friday evening, urging Nigerians, especially young people, to join him in his new political party.
