Anambra Election; Supervisory officer Missing With 41 Result Sheets.
In the present Anambra Governorship election, a Supervisory Presiding Officer is said to have “carted away” 41 results sheets.
Dr Gabriel Othong, the Returning Officer of the state’s Idemili South Local Government Area, announced this on Sunday while presenting results at the Independent National Electoral Commission headquarters in Awka.

He said that the locations of the INEC official and the result sheets were unknown, and that 41 of the 42 result sheets for the 89 voting units had been “carted away.
“Othong, a student at the University of Calabar in Cross River, reported that no elections were held in Oba Ward 1, Oba Ward 11, or Akukwu Ward in Anambra’s Idemili South Local Government Area.
The Returning Officer indicated that due to incidences of gunshots, electoral workers were not deployed in some polling locations.
He said, “One of the SPOs carted away 41 result sheets out of the 42 result sheets meant for the 89 polling units in the affected wards.
“Over 40, 000 voters were not able to vote in the affected areas due to the development.”

However, the Peoples Democratic Party’s collation agent, Dr Alex Obiogbolu, refuted the APC agent’s stance, claiming that no poll was held in any of the impacted areas.
Obiogbolu was backed up by Victor Umeh of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, who insisted there was no election in certain districts.Meanwhile, among the top three parties released for Idemili South, the APC received 1,036, the APGA received 2,312, and the PDP received 2,016 votes.
According to NAN, the Idemili South Local Government Area has a total population of 112, 652 people, of which only 6, 622 are registered voters.
