The Africa Cup of Nations begins on Sunday in Cameroon with a match between the hosts and Burkina Faso.
Cameroon faced 2013 runners-up Burkina Faso in their first Group A match at Yaounde’s massive new 60,000-seat Olembe Stadium, is well aware that expectations are high for the Indomitable Lions. With the Lions defeating Burkina Faso by two goals to one, the host looks set to deliver the trophy for their country men.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles will play seven-time champion Egypt in their potentially explosive group opener on Tuesday. Nigeria will also face Sudan on January 15, followed by Guinea-Bissau on January 19.
The Confederation of African Football has announced that matches from the continent’s showpiece football tournament will be broadcast to millions of fans in 157 countries from Cameroon.

Viewers in Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa can watch the tournament on Canal+, SuperSport, and StarTimes, while beIN Sport will broadcast it in North Africa and the Middle East, as well as on its channels in Asia-Pacific and North America, including the United States, and as far away as Cambodia and Laos.
ESPN will broadcast AFCON 2021 in its Latin American territories, which include Argentina, Uruguay, Venezuela, the British Virgin Islands, Nicaragua, Guyana, and Bolivia.
The BBC and BSkyB will broadcast the tournament to an audience eager to see how the stars of the English Premier League fare in Cameroon, while Bandeirantes, Brazil’s leading broadcaster, will show the tournament.

France will be covered by beIN Sports, Italy by Discovery, and Germany by SportDigital in Europe. Nordic fans can tune in to NENT’s sport channels, while Eastern Europeans can tune in to SportKlub.
“With public broadcasters from the participating countries set to beam their nations’ games live from Cameroon, all of Africa’s football fans are sure to tune in for the tournament.”
“Finally, for territories not served by CAF’s broadcast partners, CAF will stream all matches live with English commentary on its YouTube channel, CAF TV, and cafonline.com,” the organization stated.
However, it doesn’t look as though this promise is being fulfilled as a check by our correspondent showed that the Ethiopia Vs Cape Verde match wasn’t being showed on the YouTube channel of CAF.
