FORMER Rivers State Owned Tertiary Institution; SCHOOL Teachers Stage Protest over 5years Unpaid Salary

Former students and family members of unpaid primary /secondary school teachers of Rivers State Owned Tertiary Institutions have again staged a peacefull protest to the state government house over their five years unpaid salary by the state government

The protesters said their salaries must be paid , because there was a judgement that mandated the state government to pay them and Governor NYESOM WIKE who is a product of the law should as well obey court orders.

They said some teachers have died while some are facing ilness as a result of their unpaid salary.

Meanwhile, the state chairman of the state Civil Society Organizations ENEFAA GEOEGEWILL who led the protesters said they will not relent on the protests on monthly basis untill the demands of the teachers is achieved.

correspondent reports that Governor NYESOM WIKE sighting the protesters at the entrance of the state government house drove straight inside the government house without addressing the protesters.
