Afghanistianwar; “There are No Nigerians in Afghanistan”-FG

Following the evacuation of several nations from Afghanistan as a result of the Taliban’s recent seizure of the government, the Federal government claims that there are no Nigerians in the country for evacuation.

Since the Taliban’s takeover, various international leaders have begun to evacuate their citizens from the country.

While the United States has evacuated 4500 of its nationals, the United Kingdom has evacuated 15, 000 people as part of the Operation Pitting Evacuation mission.

In response to calls for the evacuation of Nigerians in the country, NiDCOM spokesperson Abdul-rahman Balogun stated that there are no Nigerians in Afghanistan.

“We don’t have any Nigerian in Afghanistan. That’s why we are not carrying out evacuation from the country.”
