APC Congress 2021; Dalori, Retains Position in Borno.

In Borno State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) finished its state party congress on Saturday, with all 36 members of the previous state administration being re-elected for a second term.

Hon Ali Bukar Dalori was elected Chairman, and Hon Bello Ayuba was elected Secretary, among other executives who would advocate the party’s cause for the next four years.

The election was handled by Alhaji Uba Maigari, Chairman of the Congress Committee for Borno, at the Elkanemi Sports Centre in Maiduguri.

The motion for the affirmation of the candidates by voice votes was moved by the Speaker of the Borno House of Assembly, Alhaji Abdulkarim Lawan, and seconded by the Deputy Speaker, Alhaji Abdullahi Askira.

Speaking on the development, Maigari praised the maturity and togetherness displayed by party members in Borno and urged them to continue to unite as a family.

“As governor, I will do everything possible to carry everybody along in our policies and programmes.

“I want to also enjoined all of us to work in unity and one voice. I urge the newly elected leaders of our great party to carry everyone along so as to move our party to victory come 2023 and beyond”. Zulum said.

APC Congress;Jekada returns as Chairman

In Kaduna State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna state returned retired Air Commodore Emmanuel Jekada as state chairman, unchallenged.

INEC officials, led by the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Kaduna, monitored the party’s state congress on Saturday.

The Congress Committee Chairman, Abubakar Moddibo, stated that the consensus option selected by the state chapter was in keeping with the party’s constitution while announcing the emergence of Jekada as the state chairman and several previous leaders of the party who were returned unopposed.

The Vanguard reported that Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, Speaker of Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon.Yusuf Ibrahim Zailani, Deputy Governor, Dr.Hadiza Balarabe, and other distinguished members and delegates of the party in the state attended the Congress, which took place at the Yar’adua Hall, Murtala Mohammad Square Kaduna.

APC Congress; Former state Secretary, Emeka Beke Emerges Rivers APC chairman

Chief Emeka Beke, former Rivers State secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has been elected party chairman.

Beke was the front-runner going into the election.On Saturday, he received 1,575 of the 1,615 valid votes cast in the state legislature.

The head of the electoral committee, who announced the election results, stated that Beke met all of the qualifications and was thus proclaimed elected.

The Rivers APC chairman-elect commended all delegates for their participation in the process shortly after he was proclaimed the victor of the congress.

He promised to bring everyone together to achieve the party’s victory in the 2023 elections.

“Let me sincerely from the bottom of my heart thank our leader the Rt honorable Rotimi Amaechi Amaechi and his team,” he said.

APC congress 2021; Sobotie emerges Chairman in Delta State.

The All Progressives Congress, APC, convened its countrywide State Congress in Delta State on Saturday in a peaceful and rancour-free atmosphere.

The officers were chosen unopposed by voice votes of the accredited delegates from the 25 local government districts, which began at 11:50 a.m.Engr Omeni Sobotie, a former Delta State Commissioner for Environment, was elected State Chairman of the party at the party’s Congress, which was held at the Federal College of Education (Technical), Asaba.

Chief Paulinus Akpeki as Chairman of the party in Delta Central, Ogbueshi Adizue Eluaka, Chairman, Delta North, Mr Austin Orighoye, Chairman, Delta South, Mr Nick Ovuakporie, State Secretary, Mr Valentine Onojegho, State Publicity Secretary, and 30 others were elected at the congress, which was conducted by the Congress committee headed by Senator Ajibola Bashiru and observed by officials of the Independent Electoral Commission.

Addressing delegates, Bashiru stated that while the posts were unopposed, paragraph six of the congress procedures required affirmative vote, and that the peaceful conduct of the exercise portends victory for the party in the state in the upcoming 2023 elections.

The Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, Olorogun O’Tega Emerhor, Chief Frank Ovie Kokori, and Revd Francis Waive, who represents the Udu/Ughelli seat in the House of Representatives, were among those present during the congress.

APC Congress 2021; Ojelabi emerges chairman in Lagos State.

The APC congress was held in Lagos State in a “seamless and calm” environment.

Mr Cornelius Ojelabi, a former Commissioner for Rural Development, was elected as state Chairman, while Mr Sunmi Odesanya was elected as party Secretary in a consensus arrangement.

The voice election was conducted at Mobolaji Johnson Arena, previously Onikann Stadium in Onikan, and 1,615 delegates took part.

Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Governor of Lagos State, led other dignitaries at the event held in Abuja under the supervision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and Electoral Committee members chosen by the APC’s National Caretaker Committee.

The Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, a lawmaker representing Lagos Central in the Senate, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Senator Olamilekan Adeola (Lagos West), Senator Rotimi Abiru (Lagos East), the Governor’s Chief of Staff, Mr Tayo Ayinde, the party’s immediate past caretaker chairman in Lagos, Hon. Tunde Balogun, all serving members of the national and state assemblies, chairmen of local government s.

The congress began at 11 a.m., following the opening remarks by Chief Adebayo Adelabu, chairman of the State’s Congress Electoral Committee, who guaranteed impartiality, fairness, and equity throughout the process.

The congress committee members used voice voting, requesting that card-carrying members propose each of the eligible aspirants for approval by the members. Ambassador Anthony Ogba, Secretary of the State Congress Committee, oversaw the exercise.

On the day of the congress, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Governor of Lagos State, condemned rival congresses of the All Progressives Congress reportedly organized by some groups as “just naming ceremonies.

“Gboyega Akosile, the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, revealed this in a statement following the APC state congress on Saturday, which elected Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi as state chairman.

According to Akosile, Sanwo-Olu stated that the real congress was attended by card-carrying party members at the venue declared by the State Congress Committee and monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission and the party’s national executive committee.

The Governor characterized the process as “simply decisive and non-controversial,” expressing trust in the new leadership in charge of the party’s activities in Lagos.

He claimed Ojelabi had a stellar record as an APC chieftain and that the new team will fight to strengthen the party’s grip on the state.

Akosile quoted Sanwo-Olu as saying, “We have come to the end of the state congress. All party members are happy with the peaceful conduct of the process and the outcome.

“I’m certain that the leadership that emerges from this exercise is a round peg in a hole.”

“The man (Ojelabi) that will be leading the team has a brilliant resume as a trusted hand, at the National Assembly level, State Executive Council level, political and community leadership level. He has over 20 years of political experience.”

He added that the new chairman had the mandate to reach out to aggrieved party members and bring them back to the fold
