Unknown Gunmen Attack Oyo Prison, Free all Inmates

The Correctional Facility in the Abolongo area of Oyo, Oyo State, was stormed late Friday night by gunmen, and all convicts therein were released free.

According to the Vanguard, gunmen assaulted the facility late Friday night, attacking with grenades to obtain access and free the captives. It was also revealed that the attack had left the institution in chaos, with warders fleeing for safety.

Other security agencies had been mobilized as at the time of reporting this story to assist the men and women of the Nigerian Correctional Service in hunting down the fleeing gunmen and re-arresting the detainees.
