Armed gangs Invade Lagos Streets, Loot Shops.

Reports say a known armed robber was apprehended in Lagos and sent to Abuja by the police. However, his release was apparently aided by certain high-ranking officials for whom he worked.

Following his release, his supporters from the state’s Idi-Araba region reportedly invaded Mushin to attack people they claimed of being the reason for his detention.

This development is alleged to be responsible for the commosion witnessed in Mushin region of Lagos State yesterday. An armed gang attacked local streets, inflicting injuries on people and destroying property worth millions of naira.

One person was killed amid the mayhem, which drove churches in the impacted regions to close for fear of being attacked. The areas affected were Alafia, Daniel and Morgan.

A local named Mitchy claimed that “the fight has been going on since midnight (Saturday) and the perpetrators came from Idi-Araba.” This has been going on for about six months. But the most violent were last night and today (Sunday).
