A trigger-happy police officer allegedly shot dead a young man after a disagreement over a sachet of water at Odo-Afin in Kabba town in Kogi State’s Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area.

According to reports, the incident on Saturday, January 22, sparked widespread protests in the town, effectively halting business operations.

Following the death of the young man, an enraged mob of mostly community youths stormed the old Police barracks and set it on fire.

According to an eyewitness, the alleged commercial motorcycle rider took a sachet of ‘pure water’ from the Policeman’s car and drank it without his permission.
