Mbaka to FG; Use The Same Energy Used in Arresting Kanu to Arrest Kidnappers.

The Spiritual Director, Adoration Ministry Enugu, Nigeria, Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka, has called for the unconditional release of leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.

Reports say that the Catholic priest made the call during a sermon on Sunday, at his Adoration ground.

Mbaka said he made the request when some government agents, whom he did not mention, allegedly came calling with some offers.

He said, “Some persons came to me some time ago that they have two slots for me. I told them I don’t need such offers because I have a slot that I need. They said I should mention what I need.

“My first request was that they should release Nnamdi Kanu because since you people arrested him, we have lost many lives, so of what use is his arrest if after he was arrested, kidnapping hasn’t stopped in the North?

Arresting him doesn’t solve the problem.”“Where were the nation’s security agencies when several students were kidnapped?” he asked while urging the government to use the same energy used in arresting Kanu to arrest kidnappers.

Mbaka attributed the rise in criminality to the activities of the politicians who purchase arms for the thugs during elections, advised the government to use the same vigour used in arresting Kanu to arrest insecurity, poverty, unemployment, activities of herdsmen, injustice and nepotism.

Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Visits AGF over Kanu’s Prosecution.

The legal team of Ohaneze Ndigbo has met with the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, to monitor the proceedings relating to the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Special Assistant on Media and Public Relations to the Office of the AGF, Jibrilu Gwandu.

The statement stated that the position of Ohanaze Ndigbo on the issue of kanu demonstrated their recognition of belonging to Nigeria and succumbing to the rule of law.

Part of the statement reads “The group showed a mature departure from the mindset of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra when Ohanaeze said they ‘do not support the use of any form of violence’ while channelling concerns and presenting demands.

“By urging the youths to be law-abiding and sheath their sword as well as asking them to try to obtain a voter’s card to enable them to contribute to national development, the position of Ohanaeze becomes glaringly constitutional and commendable.”

Malami also stated that the current administration “respects the rule of law and does not advocate for the breach of law. Hence, with or without the so-called monitoring group, justice will be adequately served to Nnamdi Kanu in compliance with the enshrined provisions of the law.”He also expressed hope that the group will be open-minded and guided by the rule of law as they will convey the court’s judgment to their people in their local dialects.
