Golden Dawn; Gunmen on Rampage in Ebonyi State.

Reports say at least ten people, including police officers, were slain yesterday when gunmen attacked the communities of Isu and Onicha-Igboeze in Ebonyi State’s Onicha Local Government Area.Two police officers were reportedly killed in Isu, while others were killed in Onicha Igboeze.

According to the Vanguard Newspaper, the gunmen also killed two lawyers during the attack.

According to sources, the two affected lawyers were driving in a car when they came across the gunmen, who were operating on a Lexus Jeep.

The Invaders were reported to have killed the Lawyers, set fire to the Jeep they were driving, then fled the scene with their victim’s vehicle.

According to Vanguard, gunmen and alleged security agents have killed at least three people in Onicha in the last three months. Elizabeth Agwu, the daughter of a local monarch, was hit by a stray bullet last month as police raided the town to apprehend a suspect.

The woman died as a result of the bullet that struck her in the abdomen. The culprit, who had been apprehended by police, was later shot dead.

When contacted, DSP Loveth, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, acknowledged the latest invasion but stated that details of the incident were still unknown at the time of this report.

P0She further stated that the state’s Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Garba, has despatched a team of police officers to the region to assess the volatility of the situation.
