Drunk Soldier Opens Fire on

Reports by Sahara reporters say a soldier (suspected to be drunk) allegedly opened fire on residents in Borno state. According to eyewitnesses, the drunk soldier was with one of his colleagues at a military checkpoint in town on Wednesday when the incident occurred.

A total of 16 people were injured in varying degrees.

“He opened fire and killed seven people on the spot, including a three-year-old girl.” “Sixteen others received gunshot wounds, two of whom died later,” a community resident said.

“He opened fire and killed 7 on the spot, including a 3-yr-old girl. Sixteen others sustained gunshot wounds, 2 of whom also later died,” a resident of the community said.
