Bandits Bomb Abuja-Kaduna Train

Bandits damaged a critical rail facility when bombes an Abuja-Kaduna bound train.

According to Peoples Gazette, the attack occurred on Wednesday.

The incident caused technical damage to the country’s vital train infrastructure.

A former senator, Shehu Sani, had raised an alarm on Twitter when the train he was riding on derailed following a bomb attack by bandits

In a phone conversation with Peoples Gazette about the event, Mr Sani stated that the robbers were targeting the trains in order to rob passengers of their cash and other precious goods. He further said that the assailants opened fire on the train driver.

On Thursday morning, a representative for the Nigerian Railway in Abuja did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Bandits have regularly targeted the railway between the nation’s capital and a key northern city, which has become the favored route for passengers wishing to escape the risky three-hour drive.

The murderous gangs had invaded military outposts and shot down at least one Nigerian Air Force spy plane.

The Wall Street Journal claimed last week that the military paid a ransom to the robbers in order to keep President Muhammadu Buhari’s plane from being shot down.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the Nigerian government paid N20 million to a bandit leader in return for a 12.7 calibre antiaircraft cannon as President Buhari prepared to fly to his hometown.

The Nigerian Army had since denied that allegation.

Reno Omokri, a popular Buhari Critic has blasted the federal government for focusing more on Nnamdi Kanu instead of tackling banditry.

The self acclaimed”Buhari tormentor” took to his Facebook to blast the government for not tackling banditry seriously.

Reno Omokri Wrote “On July 18, 2021, they shot down an Airforce fighter jet with surface-to-air-missiles. On October 20, 2021, they shut at a train and bombed rail tracks.”

“In Niger state alone, they control 500 communities, according to the state and local government.

And we are still calling them bandits? Meanwhile, our focus is on Nnamdi Kanu! Nigeria is not a serious nation!”
